Bear Creek Art Gala set for April 19
Staff report
Keller-based Young Artists of Texas will host a gala art event 7-10 p.m. April 19 at the Arthouse in Keller Town Center.
The event is a benefit for YAT and will feature art and live demonstrations from celebrity Texas artists and Young Artists of Texas members. Tours of the Arthouse will also be conducted, with short art films being shown at various locations throughout the night.
The nonprofit YAT is designed to educate and promote young artists, in part by giving them a place to display and market their art.
A live auction will feature trips, jewelry and travel packages, as well as a song manuscript by the late John Lennon of his song, “Watching the Wheels,” donated directly to the benefit from his wife Yoko Ono. Along with her donation, Ono sent a statement: “This framed limited edition song manuscript was generously donated by Yoko Ono Lennon. It is important to Yoko in the memory of John Lennon that young artists are given the chance to pursue their dreams. This begins with our involvement and help. Please keep the dreams of John Lennon alive by giving generously to support the Young Artists of Texas. Yoko’s donations in the past year alone to support hunger and education for children throughout the world have exceeded many millions.”
Tickets for the event are $50 each and may be purchased at the YAT Gallery, 246 S. Main St., Keller, at the Arthouse office, 251 Town Center Lane, and Roxann Taylor Realtors in Southlake.
