Couple celebrates 65 years of marriage

Tom and Barbara Moore celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on November 15, 2007. They have lived in Keller since 2005.

The couple married on November 15, 1942 in Long Hill, Conn. and honeymooned in New York City.

Mr. Moore was born in Dallas and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. During the war, he served as a mechanic and flight engineer with assignments that included LaGuardia Airport in New York City. While assigned to Mitchell Field on Long Island, he flew for the air inspectors group. He left the Corps with a rank of Staff Sargeant in 1945 and later retired from American Airlines as a management specialist in engine overhaul.

Mrs. Moore is the former Barbara Main of Stowe, Vt. During World War II, she worked for General Electric and Sperry Gyroscope.

After the war, the Moores moved to Dallas. Over the years the couple lived in Broken Arrow, Okla. and Bella Vista, Ark. before moving to Keller in 2005 to be near their family.

They have two children, a son, Tom C. and his wife Dorothy, of Keller, and a daughter, Susan Cormier of Lake Worth. They have three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Their son hosted a reception in their honor at his home on November 18.
