School News

The Keller High School PTSA and the Indian Springs PTA were awarded the National PTA Unit Achievement Award.

Central High School student Meaghan Nowell received a gold medal in Literature at the United States National Finals of the World Scholar’s Cup in Oro Valley, Arizona. The CHS team of Nowell, Mario Garza and Jessica Whistman finished ninth in the competition and qualified to advance to theWorld Finals at the YBM Village in Seoul, South Korea, May 31-Jun. 1.

Central High School student Richard Ward won the 2008 Artististic Discovery Competition for the 12th Congressional District. His entry, an electronic media self portrait, will hang in the U. S. Capitol tunnel for a year. CHS students Stacy Romanyuk and Sergio Ruan earned special recognition honors in the competition.

Other community news

South Keller Intermediate sixth-grader Jake Rogers received an invitation to the 2008 Adidas Phenom National Basketball Camp set for this summer in San Diego, Calif. He is the son of Glen and Dawn Rogers of Keller.

The Bobby Bragan Youth Foundation awarded college scholarships to eighth-graders Anna Kelly, a student at Trinity Springs Middle School, and Chaterine Nikiel, a student at Hillwood Middle School.
