Keller boy qualifies for Taekwondo tourney

Bronson Casabar of Keller won gold at the 2008 USAT Texas State Taekwondo Championship on April 12 in Dallas. He holds a second-degree black belt in Taekwondo and competed in the 12-13 age division, 99-112 pound black belt class. The win qualifies him to compete at the 2008 USAT Junior Olympic Championships in July in Detroit, Mich.

NISD reports two vans stolen over weekend

Two vans were reported stolen from the Northwest ISD Support Services building in Fort Worth sometime between May 2 and May 5, according to a news release. Inside were jackets with the school district’s maintenance logo, along with tools, cameras, digital video recorders and other equipment.

Stolen was a white 2005 Ford SD350 cargo van with Texas Exempt license tag 881-060; and a white 2006 Ford E250 cargo van with Texas Exempt license tag 213-866.

The jackets are navy blue with white name patches sewn onto the chests. Names on them are: Randy Allen, Ty Hairrell and Kevin Monroe. Because of the thefts, all maintenance employees have been asked to check in with front office staff before entering a NISD school.
