The Keller City Council officially opened another chapter in the renovation and expansion of the city’s library with the approval of a contract for the project’s design on Tuesday.

The city of Keller issued 19 single-family residential permits for March, compared to 25 permits issued in March 2007. The average value on the lots, at $314,785, dipped 5.9 percent compared to last March’s average value of $334,861. Since January, the average value on new home permits has decreased 7.3 percent, from $347,849 through March in 2007 to $322,360 thus far in 2008.
